Brumbies continued their winning momentum by edging Park in what was an entertaining match in Grahamstown. Brumbies have hit the ground running in this years competition which sees them occupy 2nd position on the log at the end of round 5.

 

Progress snap losing run

Progress ended their two match losing run by beating Joubertina away from home to get their season back on track. Progress reclaim top position on the log after 5 matches played. Progress are level on points with Brumbies but have a significantly bigger points difference.

 

Despatch Oostelikes woes continue

Oostelikes terrible start to their campaign continued when they lost to Gardens on their home ground in Daleview. Gardens bagged valuable 4 points as they continue with their excellent form in the competition.

 

Harlequins overcome Star of Hope

Harlequins convincingly beat Star of Hope in Kwanobuhle as they put in a performance which sends a statement to the rest of the teams in the competition that they will once again be strong competitors for the title this year. Star of Hope drop out of the top 4 and Harlequins are now sitting pretty in 5th position.

 

Kruisfontein vs Trying Stars

Ill discipline nearly cost Kruisfontein the match against Trying Stars, as they did just enough to beat the men from Alex 18 points to 17. It was an error ridden match where both teams failed to convert their opportunities in to points.

 

Round 5 was an entertaining round of rugby which saw 3/5 matches correctly predicted. The competition is shaping up to be very tightly contested as the race for the top 4 is on!
